This project involved the refurbishment of 6600m2 of existing buildings and the resurfacing of 5500m2 of car parking. We worked with the client's architect but we were responsible for the structural and civil engineering design of the project.

 

Work involved over cladding the roof and vertical aspect with composite sheeting and forming new retail units for High Street names such as Matalan, Home Bargains, Iceland, Maplins and Poundland. We had to liaise closely with the client's prospective tenants, in the case with Matalan, where we had to construct a two storey office block within the existing building and finish it to their corporate specifications. We constructed shop fronts and canopies to all units working closely with utility providers for each individual unit.

 

Careful planning was vital with this project in order to complete the work on time to enable the stores' to undertake their own internal 'fit-outs' in time for their opening dates.
